Thoughts On Online Shopping

As of late I have been doing all of my shopping online and I am forever telling my husband that I save so much $$$ by doing so.

I am one of those people who doesn't want to buy things at full price so I always do my research before pulling the trigger.

How do you ask? First of all I make it a point to shop free shipping and returns websites. Now there are a few of my regs that I really wish would pick up on this trend i.e-Forever 21, Cusp, Topshop

Another great site I frequent is RetailMeNot. I check this site before ANY purchase I make as I almost always can find a coupon code for my purchase. Do yourself a favor and bookmark this page!

These are my very favorite free shipping/returns sites along with my current covets...

(Not My) Aunt Liz's Chicken Spaghetti Casserole

My Pinterest boards may lead you to believe I slave away in the kitchen to keep up with every recipe I boldly pin...but my husband can vouch that just isn't so.

I decided it was time to actually try one of these delicious looking recipes to see if one could successfully be conquered.

My husband is a pasta lover so I decided to go with this healthy version of chicken spaghetti called Aunt Liz's Chicken Spaghetti Casserole.

I don't know who Aunt Liz is but I like her style and her pasta.

***Aunt Liz's Chicken Spaghetti Casserole***

  • 2 cups chopped cooked chicken breast
  • 2 cups uncooked spaghetti noodles, broken into 2-inch pieces (about 7 ounces)
  • 1 cup (1/4-inch-thick) slices celery
  • 1 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup fat-free, less-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • (10.75-ounce) cans condensed 30% reduced-sodium 98% fat-free cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese, divided

  • Preparation
  • 1) Preheat oven to 350°  2) Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl. Combine broth, salt, pepper, and soup in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk. Add soup mixture to chicken mixture; toss. Divide mixture evenly between 2 (8-inch) square or (2-quart) baking dishes coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle 1/2 cup cheese over each casserole. Cover with foil coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes.

  • The recipe photo looks like this...and you know the photos on Pinterest always look incredible...

And here is how mine turned out...

Not too shabby and I must say it was DELICIOUS!

Do yourself a favor and try it out...if I can do it anyone can.

Keep Calm and Love Boobies

As most of you already know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month which is a yearly campaign to increase awareness and early detection which is KEY!

Wow, what a scary fact to always remember...

And although there is a much lower risk for men 1 in 1,000 men will also be diagnosed...
this disease does not discriminate.

There are so many ways we can help contribute to research and awareness.

I wanted to share a fun way for all of us to help contribute to awareness and research.

StyleWise Hair Routine

Recently, I have had some inquiries about my hair routine and the products I use.
Sooo...I wanted to share how I tame my dry, curly-ish long weave.

First of all I arrived in this world with a very curly, thick head of hair.
I know many of you will say "you're so lucky" but as you know the grass is always greener.
Growing up with curly locks all I ever wanted was straight hair.
People always ask "how can you blow dry your hair so well by yourself?"
The truth is by the time I was 6 I was a pro with a round brush and blowdryer.

And here are a few reasons why I quickly learned the ways of the blowdryer...yes, the below images are of me and I am a girl contrary to how it may appear...

I mean..can you say Curly Sue?  Doppelganger?

So, with years of practice and the creation of really great products/hair tools it has become easier and easier over time.

These are the products I swear by and would absolutely recommend to anyone with curly, thick dry and color-treated locks like mine.

Morrocan Oil Hair Treatment
***I literally drench my hair in this goodness***

Elchim 2001 Professional Hair Dryer
***No better dryer out there period***

I have also had questions about how I get my curls like this....

About a year ago I took my Hot Tools curling iron and disassembled it after I figured out the "wrap the hair around the barrel" technique. I removed the clamp and simply wrapped sections of my hair around the barrel, held it for a few seconds then let go.
The problem was I burned my arms and fingers time after time.
I was now on the hunt for a clipless curling iron that was less likely to send me to the local 24 emergency care center.

Cue the dramatic music...I bring you the
and can you believe it comes with a burn proof glove for fools like me!

I really can't say enough about this miracle curlmaker that my friend Hally recommended to me.

I am going to do a tutorial in the near future...promise, but in the meantime I wanted to share with you another MAJORLY user-friendly curling iron that even the most curling iron challenged will love. What I speak of is Sarah Potempa's Beachwaver ...it's seriously legit.

Sarah's sister-in-law Colleen is one of my close friends and recently brought her beachwaver to a wedding we were both in. I was super excited to try it out as I had been hearing about it for so long. It definitely didn't disappoint. It is SO easy to use and creates the most beautiful curls in no time at all.

I was pretty amazed at how simple and easy it is!

I snagged this great user manual from Beauty Junkies Unite...

The Collection by L*Space

When my blogger/social media loving friend Allison 1/2 of Tartan & Sequins Blog recently took the position of Social Media and Marketing Specialist job at L*Space Swimwear I couldn't be happier for her!

She recently reached out to me and explained that L*Space Swimwear recently launched a resort wear line called The Collection.

Being a HUGE fan of L*Space Swimwear I knew I was going to go gaga over this new line.

Afterall, the chic and well-traveled creative director and lead designer Monica Wise and I share the same last name...match made in heaven!

Being the absolute doll Allison is she sent me my very favorite piece in the collection, the
Inca Maxi Dress to style on StyleWise. The Inca Maxi Dress is the perfect dress for all seasons and is super versatile. I can see wearing it on the beaches of mexico over one of the L *Space Torino Print Bikinis, an outdoor wedding or how I styled it below for a transitional fall look.

These outfit posts are new for me so please forgive any awkward posing/arm positions you may see...

I paired the Inca Maxi Dress with DV by Dolce Vita Jax Booties, Zara leather jacket from last season, a similar option is this Zara Leather Jacket.

The Inca Maxi Dress can be found in stores and online December 1st...
perfect timing for my holiday beach vacay, hollaaa!
