NYC Recap

To roundup our summer traveling we took a 5 day trip to NYC to visit friends and celebrate one of my best friends bridal showers.

I moved to NYC for a year after college and I always love going back and being a tourist.

We had the best time spending time with friends and basically ate our way through the city!

Here are some highlights from the trip...

Hally and I started the day with Soul Cycle in Tribeca alongside Katie Lee (Billy Joel's ex), fashion photographer Terry Richardson (Check out LADY GAGA X TERRY RICHARDSON) and fashion contributor and author, Derek Blasberg ( author of Classy: Exceptional Advice For The Extremely Modern Lady).

Unfortunately I missed Kelly Ripa by one day!

This was our instructor, Nick...intimidation nation...

After a nice sweat sesh a good meal was well deserved....

We then made our way to Brooklyn to continue our eating marathon at Peter Luger Steakhouse. Jeffrey has been talking about trying it for the past year so we decided to go this trip.

I heard all about the bacon but nothing could prepare us for this...

or this plate-o-meat...

After a meal like this I was ready for another good sweat sesh at Physique 57 the next morning. I had always heard it was similar to Define Body which I do at home so I was excited to check it out...plus Kelly Ripa does it...

Followed by a delicious lunch at The Little Owl



Gravy Meatball Sliders, Sunflower Salad, Ricotta Ravioli and amazing, cheesy Grilled Corn off-the-cob

After lunch I headed uptown to my friend Erica's wedding dress fitting! I wish I could show you the photos of how stunning she looked but I will just have to wait until September!

After a successful brunch we rounded out the trip with a divine dinner with Jeffrey's cousins at Morandi. They had just landed from St. Barth's...hence the tan...especially on Reed over there!!

Jeffrey's cousins Reed & Melissa Evins are shoe designers who followed in the footsteps of their father. HERE is an article about them from 1992 in the NY Times

They are about to make a HUGE comeback so keep an eye out!

PS-I was missing our little Tucker boy the whole time we were gone but I knew he was in good hands with Miss Cote de Texas and Miss Elisabeth of This Card Is Maxed Out. They also have a Cavalier, Lucy who loves to snuggle.

StyleWise loves Emily Maynard

Emily Maynard is the epitome of girl next door beauty. I don't know if she has an innate sense of style or a fabulous stylist...either way the girl looked amazing on every episode and every scene of The Bachelorette this season.

I loved watching to see what she would be wearing next and seeing her grace the recent pages of
 US Magazine in her everyday clothes.

On the Sunday finale I was digging the lime green Blue Life Two Slits skirt she wore on the beach...unfortunately it's sold out everywhere!

Her outfits were always perfectly accessorized with fabulous stacked bracelets, cuffs, dainty or bib necklaces and fun rings.

I am loving macrame bracelets and love to stack a few at a time...

Emily wore quite a few Stella and Dot pieces during the season...this one was a standout for me...adore her Rory Beca Keith dress too!

I don't know if her makeup was airbrushed or if she is just that flawless...either way her makeup was always perfect. Here are my choices for her top makeup looks...

I really hope Emily and Jef can make it work and be the exception.

Laguna Beach Recap

I know I am a little late with a post but I couldn't resist sharing my friends dreamy wedding weekend with you!

 From the amazing wedding location to the incredible love Rikki and Adam share...this past weekend was nothing short of perfection. I was so happy to be a part of such a special celebration.

We had a bit of a delayed flight in on Friday so we arrived an hour late to the beautiful bridesmaid luncheon at Splashes at the Surf and Sand Resort Laguna to kick off the weekend.

From the luncheon we went to the Montage for the wedding rehearsal...

We had a little time to have drinks and relax before getting ready for the rehearsal dinner.

 The rehearsal dinner was on the lawn of The Laguna Cliffs Marriott.
All of the details were so amazing.

And the menu....divine!

Lots of sweet speeches by family and friends...

The evening ended with a nightcap around the firepit which was so fun!

Saturday was spent in a suite at The Montage getting hair and makeup ready with the bride.
She might have been one of the most calm, laid back and happy brides ever!

Cutie blue monogrammed robes Rikki gave all of the bridesmaids...

After hours of primping the maids were finally ready...

These J. Crew bridesmaid dresses are my favorite. I have worn it in charcoal in my friend Ally's wedding and now in this lovely Dusty Shale color. I had a bit of an issue with the alterations which you can only slightly see in the photos...the humdinger was the full-on train in the back....

On to the STUNNING bride and groom with her brothers....

Rikki requested we all dance our way back down the aisle...we tried our best :)

Then the party started with the first dance ...

Followed by Rikki's brother Jon serenading the newlyweds with his own version of KC & Jojo's "All My Life" best/funniest performance...

Not to be outdone by a performance by one of the Gipsy Kings...

It was one of my most spectacular and fun weddings we have ever been to.

Even more, you can truly feel the love these two have for each other!
